Rhodes High workshop page
We have been hectic busy with the concept and contruction of thetheme
River City -Liesbeeck River, Cape Town.
Its been so exciting and fun getting to know the river, its history, geography, in fact the learners at Rhodes High School rather wish to continue the creative process than to study and write
exams.
We started the workshop programme 3 weeks ago and meet on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon. Iniatially went shopping and purchase material and equipment at hardware store, toy and shopshops.
The Liesbeeck river walk we find very educational and recreational and made us aware on the amazing resources and industries.
The River City artpiece starts off with the pre-colonial landscape period the the Dutch colonial period(1652-1795) and lastly the British period and 20th century.
We use mix media -clay, ink, plastic, fabric, wood ect.for the artwork process.
