Rivers of the World is the flagship art and education project of The Mayor’s Thames Festival. Delivered in partnership with the British Council's Connecting Classrooms, the project links schools and over 2,000 young people around the world through common river themes.
Each year students from up to 34 London secondary schools are linked with schools overseas (school partnerships). They study their river, or their partner city's river, and, with the help of professional artists, they produce fabulous artworks for public display.

The artworks created by all the schools involved in Rivers of the World are exhibited along the banks of the River Thames as part of The Mayor’s Thames Festival. Artworks are also displayed in high profile locations in each of the participating cities (gallery)
