The pupils’ work was inspired by the culture of Recife and its river.

The work was based on the Olinda Carnival in Recife, the pupils used 3-D pens to make their images.

‘The most enjoyable part of the project was socialising and helping other people in my year.’ Micha Renwick (pupil), La Sainte Union School

This was the successful bid for the 2012 Olympics from London. We are very excited to be hosting the the games and also that Brazil will be taking over the baton for 2016!

For example if this is your first year of the project start by clicking on ‘Your School’ to tell and show you partner school where you are and what you do. Simple steps will guide you through each page. The discussion forum below allows you to ask your partner school questions and to discuss projects. Schools all over the world will access these pages so make them exciting and creative!

This is a film of the opening of the Rivers of The World exhibition in London in September, with some of the organisers speaking.

As the end of the school year approaches we have been busy, busy, busy!

The girls have all been working on an art muriel linking Recife to London - check out the pics!

In between the times where students have been able to work collaboratively, we have put together a series of podcasts.

The theme this year is 'Perceptions'.
Students studied a poem by British Poet Benjamin Zephaniah called 'The British'

We used this poem as a topic for discussion. Because no one has been to Brazil, we asked students what they thought Brazil was like. We came up with some very interesting ideas which we used to create our muriel.

Continuing with the theme of perceptions and using Benjamin's poem as inpiration, we challenged students to create their own poem called 'The Brazillians'.

Check out the videos below - feedback and tell us what you think.

Below are some podcasts created by girls at LSU.

When students met to complete work on their mural, we thought about the theme of 'perceptions'.

All fifteen girls gathered together and thought about the types of questions they could ask to students of Colegio Damas.

Below is a list of audio files/podcasts of girls asking questions. It would be lovely if, when we arrive, we can repeat the same exercise with students from your school!
